So many thing have been happening lately. I'm on to my 3rd trimester in Ateneo as an MBA student, I'm sick as in sickly like ill I'm not sure where I got this disgusting coughing or how, but anyways I was told I was a candidate for TB? whatever!? In any case this is surely not my smoking that freaking caused this OH NO!!! Many people smokes like hell and back but not me I only do it to poop and stuff, anyways, I know a person who (pretends) he smokes like hell and back but doesn't get sickly.

Life is amazing, since it has given me new hope and dreams to follow new friends and people to share stories and ideas and to share good moments.

What I've learned so far from being a good person is never let your goodness be abused by others, (kapal ng mukha ko) anyways, yes I was good to you (slimy motherf*ckers) and you ruined our friendships, what's done is done hahaha I'm happier now, except for this coughs.

Oh gosh I have new gadgets to share only ummm I'm not really in a picture taking kinda mood to review them, I've been busy lately and I really wanted to share a lot of things.

Like blog about my trip to Hong Kong and review some gadgets like my Sony HX1 my Canon G11, my HTC Legend and my HTC Touch Pro 2 as well as my SE Xperia 2 ang dami I know but hey I buy gadgets as my means to avoid depression, and they vibrate very nice, only I don't have a vagina to stick it up my ummm anyways, I'll be back for more so stick around.

To my valued readers, I'm currently in the time of my life wherein I am pursuing a more evolutionary process (not physically as I am no insect) but with regards to my maturity and intellect, as I am currently in my first year taking up a master's degree in business administration (MBA) meaning I wouldn't be able to blog more about places and other things though I'll definitely blog more about food/dining perhaps as long I don't devour all of the serving before I begin taking photos to review which is why I am about to deliver to you a personal review of this magnificent piece of gadgetry.

The Sony Alpha A700 was released late in 2007, at it's time the camera's main competitor was Nikon's D300 and Canon's 40D as these cameras are within a segment called "prosumer" by others, more or less called because of their features and built-material.

The Alpha 700 takes a lot of it's looks from it's predecessor the Konica Minolta Dynax 7D which was a powerful camera back in it's time, it also shares a lot of it's features as well.

Now what makes a Sony function is basically a lot of marvelous engineering as I believe Sony is indeed the leader or the "electronics giant" the following I would list are very interesting features of the Alpha 700

(By the way I always forget about labeling my images but I assure you all of it are mine even the studio photos with very white BG)

- 12mp pixel resolution APS-C sized CMOS (one of the first to incorporate an APS sized exmor sensor
-11 AF points
-5 frame per second burst shooting
-dust reduction system
-Sony's Super Steady Shot (CCD Shake technology)
-Compatibility with legendary Minolta Lenses
-Ultra High Res screen 3" with 920k dot resolution
-Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) found only in Sony Alphas
-Rugged weather resistant body (magnesium I think)
-HDMI output

The A700's front view along with an 18-70mm lens (the lens to tell you the truth sucks) although I have better lenses I'm just lazy to change the darn thing.

Back view with lots of buttons and the very big 3 inch screen as well as dual command dials for quickly changing settings like shutter speed and aperture value, only thing I don't like is that a camera of this class should also include a secondary status lcd on top of the camera but this one uses the big 3 inch screen for stats and settings making it a bit power hungry.

The most superb accessory for a Sony Alpha is The HVL-FM58AM flagship speedlight by Sony and actually by Sony it replaces the previous FM56AM flagship that was a Minolta re-badged speedlight, as you can see the most astounding feature of this flash is it's ability to point at any given direction especially when using it in portrait mode.

As you can see in the photo above the color rendering is very vivid and actually I did not do any post processing whatsoever, I just set the camera in Manual, set the color to vivid and set the DRO (dynamic range optimizer) to level 3

What DRO does is it adjusts the level of contrast to match the whole picture so as not to give a washed out look or overly dark contrasty look, in other words it is highly synonymous to that term HDR (high dynamic range) current generation Sony Alpha changed the term DRO to HDR mode as it is more consumer recognizable

The lens I used is a legacy Minolta 50mm F1.7

All in all, I really love Sony for making a truly magnificent, easy to use and stylish camera, the story behind this is that I actually got it on sale, AV Surfer sold it to me at 50xxx with the inclusion of a Sony portable printer and a bag, the previous SRP was around 60K without lens but they gave me a kitlens and a watch as well.

My advise, before buying something you want make sure to scurry around and about every store you know on selling your given item and good things will surprise you.

The Flip and the Filipino

Ok so I think the title is really inappropriate for this blog entry but here's the thing I was able to land my hands on a Flip pocket camcorder and so while preparing for this review, I happen to come across a person adding me in his YouTube friends list, I'm not sure who he is but the first thing I noticed are his uploaded videos, one of them concerning a very funny yet in a way a little offending movie titled "How to Act Around Filipinos"

Anyways it's just me some might get offended some might just laugh it off (it's not OA naman)

Anyways that doesn't concern my review on this fabulous piece of gadget. Now the Flip video measures around 4inches in height, 2inches in width (front/back), 0.7inch (side) other features and accessories would be;

- 1.5inch TFT LCD display
- built in memory around 1GB or 2GB (non-expandable) in this case the 2GB gave roughly 1 hour of recording time
- SD or standard definition video recording 640 X 480 at 30 fps
- F2.8 lens
- automatic Gain
- mono sound (mono mic?)
- digital zoom
- pop-up USB port
- 3.5" TV out port
- Suede cloth like pouch

Photo above shows the Flip's front, you'll see a standard D-pad, record, play and delete button it's that simple no fiddling of the unit, even the menu interface is dead simple the idea is to turn it on hold it and shoot away, it's actually aimed for the "no brainers"

Photo above shows the back of the Flip video, you'll see that the thing surrounding the lens is a huge chunk of plastic in Tagalog (nakaumbok) or beveled it's a bit of an issue concerning that some people are of course irresponsible making this a bit dysfunctional most especially when dropped faced lens wise.

In the photo above you'll see what I meant about the popup USB connector so no need for fiddly USB wires etc and below the popup thing you'll see a small black hole (haha) that's the TV out port.

And finally the photo above shows the side wherein located is the on/off switch and also you can place a string or neck strap whatsoever on the loop hole thing below it.

The Flip pocket video camera or better yet pocket camcorder is very useful in quick or sudden occasions or if you're an aspiring "videographer" or reporter, also for fun short movies like the YouTube video link I posted and likewise if you're a peeping tom who uses this while stalking somebody could be a girl or a guy?

Whatever, it's really simple and fun to use.

I tried capturing myself on Video but I feel shy hahaha! Besides you'd probably want a sample video quality, do remember it was already 5:30pm and it was cloudy outside also the mixed lighting environment so take note on these conditions while judging for yourself.

Anvaya Cove

When we received a call from our insurance handler (that what you call them) or better yet our family friend that we were invited to check out a newly develop high-end residential community out of town then we were the least excited family members to appreciate the invitation because not only did it meant loosing precious sleep especially if you came home at 3:00am and was about to leave at 6:00am but also feeling cranky and shitty first thing in the morning is not a good idea for a road trip.

Anyways it was a rainy Sunday morning when me and my family went to this place called Anvaya Cove, it was a three hour drive from Manila to Subic and it wasn't a very good morning for me anyways (try driving while you feel shitty for 3 straight hours)

Anvaya Cove is a seaside residential community that encompasses 320 hectares of land and they have their own beach (hooray!) anyways it's owned by Ayala Land and it's located further away from SBMA (Subic) almost in Morong Bataan.

Not only does it have a few residential lots but also condominium units and cluster like houses for living, these are for those who're looking for variety.

The Beach is pretty ordinary, it's supposed to be a man-made cove (or so I was told) and they have at least two or more man-made coves. It pretty much does the job as a beach getaway.

In the photo below you'll see me and my Family (my brother and father) on the background shown is the so so beach and the area contains a lot of lush greenery and almost a forest like environment since it's like super far away from Manila.

Anvaya has a recreational center that consists of the following facilities:

- An infinity pool

- Sports center (Tennis court, Basket ball court etc)

- Restaurant (for guests and members of the club)

- A club house (the view from the mezzanine is fantastic)

- Spa

- Bookstore

- Wifi cafe

- of course the beach and beach activities (they have lifeguards and stuff)

- etc

Pretty convenient place right? But it doesn't end with happiness and Glee because such a place is very high to maintain and owning a unit/house/cluster in this area is also very expensive, the prices vary form 7M, 10M to 20M and the point is that this is a property not located in an urbanize or well developed areas, it's very impractical and would only give you financial scars.

Plus membership to their club can only be obtained when a person is a unit owner. That for me is a bit unfair because the place is too far, maintenance will be very hard to find, it would've been easier for those uninterested with owning another house to have a club membership instead of an out of the way expensive house and lot.

Photo above shows the many guests invited to take a look at the newly develop resort/residential community, good thing they had WiFi to compensate for the ill-tasting pasta sauce I just consumed.

Photo above shows a sample unit of the cluster like houses, I think this is how the house will look like if you bought one from them, this one is specifically around 14-16M I think.

Of course the interior decorations are your responsibility, sadly there is no mall near in the community or even a gas station it seems like a few kilometers away from one and even the entrance to Anvaya from this house is a few kilometers away the community is freaking huge!

All in all it would have been a very nice place to relax, unwind and socialize, but it is not for the average Filipino families nor even for those with highly capable budgets, I guess it's for those with a lot and I mean a lot of cash to spare.

Of course my dad has no intentions whatsoever in purchasing a house and lot in Anvaya unless they give us a huge discount as huge as the place haha!

19th Trans Sport Show

I love cars! I'm probably one of those nerdy "gays" out there that do and I'm happy because being gay doesn't always have to be about fashion, beauty, party, hair and make up etc. (I think I'm being prejudice with my "kind" ohhh I think I did it again my "kind" ohhh) hahaha anyways, a few weeks ago, in the blogging world this may mean a decade, I went to a car show specifically the 19th Trans Sport Show held in Mega Mall at the Mega trade hall (why does everything that has something to do with Mega Mall usually have the word Mega?)

Besides going to gadget events (which I probably blogged in my Multiply ages ago) I love going to Car Shows my problem is that I don't seem to know where this events are held because I lack the effort to do some research. At least I was able to go to this event.

Hmmm most of the vehicles are a stand out, others are cute and some are just expensive but boring. Shown below is a picture of a yellow car a Volkswagen Beetle it's old but cute.

And this one's a sports car an Audi which I failed to remember the model name, it looks very aerodynamic and also very thirsty. I'm not a car reviewer so back off if you're looking for a full review!

A Chevrolet Cruze, the latest edition of Top Gear Philippines stated that this is the official car of a DLS-CSB student, hmmm why? I mean some kids there are filthy rich they probably own better if not more expensive gas guzzlers than this one.

Anyways I like this car because of it's bigness (that a word?) it's spacious cabin reminds me of a high-end sedan rather than a compact one plus the interior design is not boring at all it has a two-toned seat and dashboard, plus it is frugal in gasoline! two thumbs up.

This one is a Mini Cooper! Cute as hell, very stylish and it gives you a lot of pogi points (eww I said pogi haha) it's a car-maker/company owned by BMW and it's actually for the "big kids" with deep, I mean Deeeeep pockets, has a sense of adventure and also for kids who likes borrowing daddy's car.

This is like the best car I've seen there, it's huge, it's expensive and it kicks-ass! Because it's a Porsche! And also it's an SUV better suited for our pothole-filled and flood prone streets of Manila or I could be wrong you know, hahaha.

These are cars fitted for exhibition and because of that I know that there are better cars in the metro worth your money, these aren't even my dream cars they're just you know spur of the moment vehicles I like.

My Buddy WD-40

Caliraya

It was May 15, 2010 that me and my friends decided to go to this place known as Caliraya, it is a mountain with a lake and lots of resort area where people/tourist are able to play some water sports.

Some people reserves this resort with the same name as the area (owned by St. Francis Square group of companies) as a place where they can host several team building activities for those companies with enough resources to hire thousands of employees.

When we arrived at their part you are required to park your car in a given area away from the resort because you'll be riding a boat from there, I was able to go to Caliraya before like when I was in 3rd year high school I think, it's the same murky, scary and very deep lake as before.

The resort offered a few stuff for entertainment such as the giant ball you see in the photo below, you can see me and the ball and how huge it is.

The resort is very grassy and since Caliraya is located on top of a mountain the wind is not that bad but it could use a little boost.

You'll see several grazing animals such as a water buffalo and a horse they're not very interesting animals and they didn't even notice the piece of fruit I've thrown at them

What I really disliked is the 10minute hike going to the cafeteria, they don't even have a restaurant, everything is packaged because you only get three meals breakfast, lunch and dinner or whichever according to your package, the 10minute hike going to the cafeteria is exhausting, when you walk slowly it'll take you 15minutes.

Another which I disliked is the food, it's not bad but it's boring.

Other activities worth mentioning are fishing, swimming at the pool (not the lake ewww) wall climbing, gliding or zip-line and jumping in a trampoline like what Molly's doing in the photo.

The rooms where we slept were ok they're air-conditioned, they have two bathrooms, and the beds are fairly comfotable.

Of course what's important is not the place you go but the people you are with I really enjoyed the company of my friends.

Also would I be recommending this place? Well probably if you are a group consisting of 5 or more people but for couples stay away from this place it's not romantic.

Sony Cybershot TX1

Currently the market is producing this magnificent new imaging technology called back-illuminated CMOS sensor, Sony calls their brand Exmor R and currently Sony and Ricoh are the most prevalent manufacturers of this technology also Casio is following lead with some of their new cameras also having this within them.

The advantage of having this new sensor which is more common in the compact point-and-shoot market and Video cameras is it's huge improvement on signal-to-noise ratio which means that in low-light your sensor produces cleaner and usable images unlike the traditional CCD and typical CMOS sensor, now imagine Sony using this in their Alpha line up then that would incredibly improve the signal-to-noise ratio of their APS-C sized CMOS sensors.

Now enough of my geeky babbling, I happen to own a Cybershot TX1 which you've guessed contains a back illuminated cmos sensor that unlike the traditional Cybershot cameras which uses Sony's Super HAD CCD which is actually better than other CCD manufactured (yes I'm biased on Sony products hahaha) the new Exmor R sensor well it dissapoints me

Pros:

-slimmer camera design

-4x optical zoom (38-1XX something fairly usable)

-optical steady shot

-large 3" resistive touch screen

-feel good to hold

-good metal feel

-does not attract fingerprints

-light and pocketable

-720p HD video recording at 30fps

-good battery life

-good image quality

-sweep panorama feature (this is a sweet feature)

-face detection

Cons:

-better noise handling but still unimpressive

-washes out fine detail in low light

-slow opeartion

-gallery mode is inconsistent

-limited in-camera-editing features

-harsh flash exposure (pictures looked over-exposed when using flash)

-red eye reduction seems useless (better stay away from using flash)

-Expensive at almost $550 here in the Philippines or 25,xxx+

Overall if you just need a stylish camera and you hate using a flash then this camera is very good for you, but if you're a power user and would prefer a feature rich manual-enabled camera than an automatic stylish one then I'll review another camera soon.

Heavy Rain

I'm talking about a game titled Heavy Rain hahaha, I just wish it would happen right here right now because the heat is KILLING ME! (okay not really)

The game titled Heavy Rain is a story about several characters (I'm not a good reviewer I suck at it though I'm good at sucking other things...)

Anyways the game is consistent to the word heavy, why if you might ask is it Heavy? Well the game play involves a lot of decision making and very difficult quick decisions are necessary in order for the game to progress, plus the game setting is an urbanize dark city where it rains most of the time add to that a very sad/tragic whatever story and you've got Heavy Drama!

What's really good though is the re-playability of this game, since it involves again several decision making selections then it's impossible for two people to have the same game ending/scenario/progress depends on how you choose, so choose wisely, I know I didn't cause I got one of my "bida's" finger sliced using a kitchen knife? basta so bad of me and he's like my crush in that game pa naman!

Anyways Happy reading my review if ever you might find this review exciting and relevant tell me and I'll treat you a yogurt durian flavor in fro-yo... =P

New Year Rant

Ok so it's the year 2010 and what can I say?

I haven't been updating my blog too much, I'm sorry for the delay and so to my minuscule or non-existent readers out there ha ha Happy New Year!... wait I would've said that 19 days ago ha ha what the heck..

So like it's the 19Th day of January and my birthday is coming up hm mm 7 days from now yep that day is the 27Th and I'm really not looking forward to getting one year older, I mean I'm not even getting any taller I'm just or still 5'3" <----- did I get that correct? anyways I'm dying!!! No not really dying as in going to rot in hell and all that jizz, I'm just dying from boredom, frustration, confusion and ITCH! (non-sexual kind)

I'm suffering from some sort of hypersensitivity (over reaction of my immune system) because I was taking anti-biotics for the past couple of weeks due to my relentless coughing and now it's gone thanks anti-biotics and NO thanks Anti-biotics! You've given me the worse possible kind of itching I swear I've never ever have felt in my entire life! UGH and the new meds my doctor gave me are horrible tasting much horrid than my Cough Syrup which is fuscia in color and tastes like ink.... ewwwwwwwww.... Here it is for reference:
If ever I get well soon I swear I'm eating at a fancy Italian restaurant since I'm banned from it and other good stuff like cheese, preservatives, chocolates, hmmmmm CHICKEN huhuhuhu I love chicken pa naman! Oh that's not English ok I'm sorry!

That explains why I keep forgetting what his/her/they/what is and such other small things not even worth forgetting such as a famous toothpaste brand, yeah I kinda forgot a while ago what Colgate was...

I may need sleep and a couple of narcotics to ease my restlesness and mental stress... What I need is a hot boyfriend.. yeah I think that's asking so much...

So I think starting tomorrow I will go back in my blogging and do less on my rants and more positive energies should come my way...

Stuff I wish I had the Pocketwizard

It's one of my dreams, to be able to shoot photographs with a 3 light setup outdoors using a master/slave flashes... Although most DSLRs and Flashguns/Speedlights nowadays offer built-in infra red triggers, such as Nikon's CLS, or using a Nikon SU-800(click the links for further info) When Outdoors infra red light just won't do it specailly if you plan to position your flashes behing walls and other obstructions, fortunately there is a Pocketwizard watch the video if you may to fully understand the use of remote flashes and wireless triggers. =P

Flying Pig Eastwood Mall

The Flying Pig is one of the first few restaurants that opened along with the newly developed/opened Eastwood Mall in Libis.

I just tried dining there last July 11/09 with my friend, and at first I thought to myself that their menu prices were a bit expensive considering they've just opened recently, that's until I ordered the cheapest food there is in the food choices which is a meatloaf mashed-potato concoction at $6 I thought I could've enjoyed a meal in McDonalds (I'm sorry I'm quite cheap lately) well my friend didn't order anything since he just ate a ton of Ramen in Teriyaki Boy, anyways my meal arrive and UGH! It was plenty, too much for me, there were two slabs of meatloaf slices as big as a T-Bone steak and at least an inch thick with bacon on the lines and mashed-potatoes on the side.

I'm sorry I did not enjoy my meal, even though I did get what I payed for which is a hefty serving, it tasted like Spam, a generic tasting gravy and mashed-potatoes that tasted like they were made by Kraft, huzzah!

And no I did not like the restaurant's interior, even though they've bombarded it with generic artworks from unknown artists.

I wish pigs fly though it would've been quite a sight...

Blackberry Curve 8900

For starters I'm reviewing this phone not because I'm in dire need to post something here on my blog or posting it just to show off harhar! I'm doing this review because I think it's a nice and useful phone. =D

What I like about my BB Curve 8900 first of all is it's tactile and full Qwerty keypad, unlike other qwerty phones out there (like my previously owned E63) the keypads of the 8900 is well spaced and typing text is a breeze (although men and women with big fingers like BROAS would not appreciate the size of the buttons) anyways this phone is targeted mostly for the female executive or the stylish person, cause unlike it's older sibling the Blackberry Bold 9000 this phone is sexy!

Specwise the phone has a variety of features that most people would not be able to use in everyday life, connectivity wise this phone lacks the support of 3G/HSDPA so video calling and blazing internet is out of the question although the 8900 is equipped with wifi, one has to find the nearest hotspot in order to connect thru wifi, plus the process is complicated as hell almost like connecting your windows mobile device through wifi.

The camera of the 8900 is a clear winner over it's bigger bro the Bold 9000 because unlike other BBs in the past the Curve 8900 is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel snapper with LED flash and autofocus unlike the usual 2.0 megapixel fixed focus type, although video recording is mediocre almost useless good for MMS use only, I have no use for the latter feature anyways.

The menu interface and homescreen of this phone is simply magnificent, viewing images and watching videos at it's large screen is glorious a full
480 x 360 pixel screen.

Multimedia wise the 8900's mp3 player is standard yet it offers the usual arranged by artist, song, playlist and album feature plus it does have a 3.5mm socket for any earphones or Skullcandies out there, sound quality is good and well balanced.

BUT! The most outstanding feature unique to Blackberry devices is their ability to use push email, simply put it this way, intant email anytime and anywhere, what do I mean by this? I mean you intantly recieve emails the moment someone emails you it's automatically pushed through your blackberry device just like your regular text messages, cool!

Another feature is the BIS (Blackberry internet service) without this your blackberry device is simply a phone for calls and text, unlike other cellphones which uses generic GPRS/EDGE networks and 3G/WCDMA/HSDPA a blackberry device is also equipped with the following but it is locked unless you apply for this BIS, then and only therefore can you use Push email services and surf the internet as well as send MMS, I know it's quite selfish, here in the Philippines only Globe Telecom and Smart offers the service, this only applies on postpaid subscriptions, it is a fixed amount of roughly $11 a month on top of your G-plan/Smart plan plus 0.015 cents per kb/s although nowadays Globe offers fixed plans and plan allowances for the service, I suggest you inquire it yourself. (BTW Globe's Time mode 5 pesos per 15 minutes doesn't work on BIS)

Once you've activated your BIS then and only therefore can you use online applications built for your Blackberry such as Facebook and Yahoo messenger to name a few, once you've signed in online among such applications, IM and updates are in real time thus there is practically no need for you to go offline ever, unless your being stingy and is quite frugal for the moment, cause I understand it's costly yah? hahaha!

Discover the Shores of Pagudpud nyahaha...

It's amazing on how clear the waters of this beach is, take a look it's absolutely fantastic

Ok so after we've rested and settled everything, it's time to explore the beach, there were lots of sights to see. It's breathtaking to see how clean and almost un-touched the beaches of Saud is.

Things to love about the place: (ok not everyone would love/like it but hey! It's my Blog!)

- Clean
- Windy (very)
- Waves (ouch)
- White Sand
- Few people
- Good for R&R
- Friendly locals
- Bagnet (hey it's Ilocos haha)
- Ummm almost everything haha!
- Small Fishies you could swallow one if you want to
- Hermit crabs (I killed a few tee-hee)
- No Jellyfishies yey Swim swim swiM all you want

Thing's I hate:

- Sea Weed... Their disgusting...
- Some sharp stones/coral/rocks underwater wear water shoes/socks (I wore none Ouch!)
- Mosquittos (Buy katol or use Off-lotion)
- Expensive restaurant prices ( if your being stingy)
- It's hard to find a tricycle
- Very Far

If you love photographing landscapes then this place is also a nice site to see the windmills although you can hardly see them in this photo. (Be sure to use yer tele-photo lenses, lenshood and polarizing/UV whatev filters to remove un-wanted glare and other stray light)

Pagudpud 1st day Food, Sand and Sun

Of course since we've just arrive at the beach we needed to eat breakfast and what better way to start the day by eating of course haha, hmmm the food was very savory, satisfying and filling plus it's affordable.

As I said in an earlier blog post, it was the off-peak season already so there weren't many people, there were tourist mostly koreans and caucasians and some Ilocanos perhaps from Laog taking a break from work or stuff. Basically it was a relaxing vacation with nothing else but the sun, sand and the breeze of fresh sea air, no party crowds no garbage at the shore and most of all no busy schedules haha!

We spent the day by walking along the shore and catching small hermit crabs, we didn't take a swim yet since we were tired from the journey.

I could tell you the place is an absolute beauty, the sand is white, the waves were strong and the wind is so pleasant so perfect you'd have to wish that everyday was like this.

so the day went by, and dinner time was shortly coming our way, and decided to take pictures of the sunset, though I'm not a big fan of sunsets so anyways I took some shots and I must say by looking at the cloud formation you'd have to wonder whatever happened to Feria that stupid storm.

Nightfall started and the beach lights were all turned on, we took our seats at the restaurant and ordered other dishes which I fail to photograph, uuuuhmmm mmmmm I love that Bagnet Rice thing (Bagnet, crispy deep fried pork belly, high in cholesterol) it was superb and mouth watering specially with the bagoong which I fail to realise I'm allergic from good thing I have Benadryl.

I've got lots of stories tah share and memories to store in this blog so I have to post the rest of the stories/pictures some other time haha, I need to go for the mean time.

On the road again a journey to Pagudpud

Our journey started a week ago, last Friday to be exact and while were at it we continued to travel even though there was a storm on going. Harhar!

I don't know if you could call that bravery or stupidity but I was really excited and no storm could stop us from going to Pagudpud in Ilocos, and to be honest there was no bad weather on the way up north! Yeah!

We took a bus going to Pagudpud, Florida Bus, their terminal is located at Sampaloc in Manila and it goes straight to Pagudpud.

Be warned though as the bus seats are quite un-comfortable their made of synthetic or faux leather ugh it's irritating your ass will heat up on that stupid material plus that bus company would often stop at their designated check points meaning they have a lot of stop overs, it took like 13 hours to get us to Pagudpud.

we left Manila at 7:30pm Friday night and arrived at Pagudpud 8:30am the next day, the only convenience the bus offers was a built-in comfort room, but alas it was slightly useless since Florida bus lines often stop at their checkpoints which usually are gas stations with cafeterias and CRs since I think they often change drivers on the way up north.

Ahh finally we arrived at Pagudpud and at the resorts Saud beach area to be exact, to go from one place to another the primary transportation used in the provinces is a tricycle (one manned motorcycle with a side-car) the drivers are quite friendly and helpful considering the weight of our bags and the weight of my friends tee-hee, the price or fee is just $1 to go to the beaches and be sure to give them a tip/extra just to say thanks at the least.

They also offer sight seeing tours it's like $15 or less depends on how good you haggle and they'll take you around the different tourist spots in Pagudpud however we weren't able to try it out.

Finally we were able to rest for a few minutes and unload all our stuff in our posh little suite, we got a discount since it's already off-peak season like we got the room/jr suite $125 for three days and two nights stay not bad at all considering that this room would cost like $100 for a night on the peak seasons woah like WOAH! haha good deal right. Of course there were cheaper rates because there were a lot of resort and mini hotels but we opted to choose luxury over the cheaper rates.

Canon Powershot A480

I was searching for another camera to use for the trip because I kinda figured I did'nt want to use my Cybershot T300 on the trip to Ilocos, so I searched at Tipipc.com for another camera and found out this cheap yet very functional Canon Digicam the Poweshot A480. But I had it bought in Greenhills since I didn't have time to meet with the sellers at TPC. Starting with how it looks, it's not exactly sexy as some might look for in a gadget especially the fashion crowd, but it is quite handy and comfy to hold.

Now the back part of this camera is quite simple and suites it's target market which is the amateur photographers and casual first time camera owners, because the control layout is quite easy to understand as long as you read the manual first.

The Screen size is big enough, standard to all the budget cameras as of this time, four years or so ago the standard was 1.8 inches then 2.0 inches now it's 2.4-2.5 inches, some cameras offer LCD sizes as big as 3.0-3.5 inches like my T300 and LX3

The camera is powered by two AA batteries, so I sugget you use NiMH rechargeable types or Lithium-ion type batteries as you common alkaline would last to only 100+ shots and the bad thing is this camera doesn't offer a viewfinder which is suppose to be common to the budget P&S market.

It also accepts SDHC upto 8GB, I think? and then like I said a while ago the camera is comfy to hold mainly because of how it's shaped observed the top layout control and shape of the camera.

I rate my T300 a 9 out of 10

while the Powershot A480 is rated at a good 8 out of 10
sadly the A480 lacks a proper Image Stabilizer it would have been helpful at low-light scenes, btw the iso performance of the A480 is quite good usable at iso 800 and don't even attempt iso 1600. clean at iso 200 and average at iso 400...

It's fairly priced at $135 in TPC to $145 in Ebay.ph at your local stores and Canon reatilers it's priced at $175-$180 but you do get warranty and a free pouch at your canon retailers... You do the math and convert it in Pesos, or better yet go here and search one for yourself TPC

God I tasted this brand of cigarette last night while hanging out at CBTL (Coffee bean and tea leaf) in Greenhills San Juan. My friend handed me one and even said "here try this it's awful" Ugh!
Why the hell would she buy it if it was so awful, haha, anyways it was a chocolate flavoured cigarette, ewwwww!!!

Anyways I enjoyed the night we bought lotsa stuff for the trip to come, buying stuff in bulk is not EASY!

Before ending the night with coffee and treats we went to S&R in Taguig and shopped like crazy, I love the pizza and the churros con chocolat? Uhh yeah? I bought like a muffin set and junk food ugh! I'm gonna get fat by doing this!

Oh and t'was nice to see my friend's cousin again she's such a colorful person.

d'Excitement is killing me!

I can't wait, tis just a few days away before the trip to Ilocos, and hearing stuff bout it from my friend who just recently came from Ilocos and all it's sights.

I got really excited specially when I saw her photos of Pagupud and the windmills!

Ahhhh! But what makes this trip exciting is I get to spend it with my closest friends, too bad there's only the three of us, it would have been best if two to three more of my closest friends can come with us.

Anyways just for the fun I took some sample photo of random objects in my room, and wouldn't you know it my photog skills are still sparkling great! hahaha!

Banapples a day will keep the doctor away

Yeah right that's if I don't get a heart attack from consuming to much fats/oils. Anyways for the past few weeks I've been a frequent customer of this dainty little restaurant named Banapple along Katipunan ave. in Quezon Ciy.

It's like a few blocks away from my house and I only discovered this little house of treats like a few months ago, gosh I sure am missing like half of my life not knowing about this little house of treats hahaha.

What makes Banapple so memorable:

- Yuummooo!!! Yummy!!! Oh my God so Sarap!
- Cakes! Cheece-cakes! Cookies! Pies!
- Super cheap! (like you only pay $1 to $5 for meals and cakes)
- Servings, Goodness I can't finish the dish it's too hefty.

Ugh! I don't even need convincing if one of my friends actually suggested we eat there!

WWF on my doorsteps

So just a while ago after eating a tilapia sa gata (coconut milk and tilapia) for lunch... I know it's like evening but hey I eat lunch late, someone came at the office, he was wearing a blue shirt black pants, black shoes and so on, you get the whole picture? At first I thought oh no not another salesman selling steam iron and/or laundry equipment, but I kinda thought he was umm cute..

Yeah I sorta kinda liked him he speaks english fluently that's like un-common among my agegroup plus a major turn-on haha, how did I know he was about my age? He kinda asked/said a series of question/answers/definitions and all throughout our conversation he maintaned a sunny disposition of course he should be like that all the time because he works for the WWF Philippines!

Huh WWF what? It's the world... I really don't know what it stands for but you gotta check out that cute logo. Aint it just sweet! Anyways he was a Fundraiser, he's asking for money in a formal non-coercive manner... haha, he should've just asked me out I kinda think he's cute hahaha!

I gave like a sum equivalent to $10 as a donation and for the effort of walking through one house into another along Katipunan Ave. where I'm located.

Anyways I'm a concern person especially when it comes to our environment, I always enjoy watching innovative TV shows about alternative energies and conservation and recycling thank god there's Natgeo and Discovery channel for that.

I kinda get his message that we all should do something in order to help mother nature so as a tolken of my appreciation i'm spreading the news so c'mon guys yah hafta click the link below

Cheap Electronic Surprise!

As I've mentioned earlier I've planned a trip to Ilocos/Pagudpud up north of the country and like all vacations there's gonna be swimming, and when there's swimming there'll be fun and to capture such memories I'll need a camera! I do own ummm 3 cameras, A Nikon D50 DSLR which is already an antique in the Digital electronics market, a Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is fairly new in the market and quite advance if I may say and of course my trusty P&S a Sony Cybershot T300 which I use most of the time to capture fun vivid memories of drunken friends ummmm most of the time me being drunk, anyways, I don't wanna use one of em in the water/beach because they might broke, so...

TaDahh!!!
I bought this cheap fixed focused camera at a local Kodak/Island Photo developing centre and whadda you know it works like a gem, it's roughly around $40 hahaha so cheap and it has a 5megapixel sensor actually it gets the job done.

I also bought a digicap case? or some might simply call it a plastic wrap for water protection on your mobile gadgets.

It's so functional just perfect for the trip that's soon to come so watch out peeps!

Hmmm.. I did an initial testing and yup it does the job, it has the same quality photos of a Nokia N73 hahaha I'll post some samples now...

This is a photo of my office reception area I did some resizing and cropping but the overall quality is ok, just right to be used under the sun, under the ocean and all that beach activity shizz...

Beach time again

Finally I got a clear signal from my boss/dad about my planned trip to Ilocos. If you ask me what I'll do there? duh! it's as clear as a bottle of champagne I'm gonna enjoy the sun! Hahaha! That's if it doesn't rain up north it's the freakin rainy season already and it's the only time of the year I'll be able to enjoy the beach, the sand and the waves cause I'm quite busy lately. I'm just hoping the waves would not enjoy torturing me as i've heard that the waves up north is quite unforgiving haha, making it one of the hottest surf spots in the country. Ohh yeah by the way I'm not just talking about the trip to Ilocos but also a trip to Pagudpud.

I've inquired rates at a certain resort Saud beach resort hmmm, the rates are ok naman, but the main point of my travel is to check out if it does meet my expectations as many would say that Saud in Pagudpud, as well as Maira ira beach is the Boracay of the north.

I've never been to Boracay or in fact I've never been to any of the hottest destinations/beaches in general here in the Philippines! And I call myself a Filipino, damn! Yeah and another of my concern are Jelly fishes I hope there's none out there!

so anyways i can't post pictures just yet, I'll do that the moment I get home from the trip yah!
